Vision Insurance Programs are usually designed to reduce costs for routine screening and preventive eye care.  Most plans have discounts or an allowance for prescription eye wear (eyeglasses and contact lenses). Some vision plans also offer reimbursement on elective vision correction surgery, such as LASIK and PRK which our office provides.  Vision Insurance Programs usually do not cover the cost for examinations for medical conditions and those examinations should be covered under the patient's medical insurance.
